For venues

Your door. Your policy. Your call.

thewrit gives your staff a clearer screen and your guests a quicker handoff, without taking a single decision out of your hands.

Owners & managers

Know your door

  • Arrival counts and busy hours from your own scans
  • A decision log: who decided, what, and when
  • Policy controls: always check physical ID, or not, your choice
Door staff

Less squinting, same judgment

  • One scan, one screen, a large photo
  • Buttons you can hit with one thumb in the dark
  • Honest offline mode that asks for a manual check
Whole block

Opt in, only as far as you like

  • Cross-venue sharing is off until you turn it on
  • Guests consent separately to share details
  • No shared blacklist, no scoring of guests

What we are testing, and what we are not promising

Faster handoffs do not automatically mean more revenue, and we will not tell you they do. The pilot measures plain things, then you decide if it is worth keeping.

QuestionHow the pilot looks at it
Is the handoff quicker?Time from scan to decision, compared with your current door.
Do guests actually use it?Share of entries that arrive with a pass, and how many return.
Does staff trust the screen?Short check-ins with your door team. Their read counts most.
Does it help on busy nights?Arrivals by hour, and whether the queue behaves differently. We report what we see, whichever way it goes.

No-cover bars are first-class

If you never charge at the door, you are not an afterthought. Recognition, arrival counts, and the decision log work with zero payments involved. Paid cover and guest lists are an optional module for later, and only if you want them.

The venue always decides. A check at another venue is evidence your staff can weigh, never permission. thewrit does not replace ID checks, does not promise to catch fake IDs, and does not tell your staff what the law requires of your venue. Admission rules and ID requirements are for you and your counsel. We are having ours reviewed too.

Be in the first downtown group

The pilot is free for the first group of downtown venues. Spots are few, terms are still being written, and nothing is guaranteed until we have spoken.
